This workshop will include 12 hours of training as an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor using the manual, ‘Teaching English Language Learners the Good News’.
Workshop topics include: * Principles of learning and teaching a language * Organizing your ESL classes * Lesson planning for ESL classes * Practices for introducing vocabulary and teaching pronunciation * Practices for providing communication practice * Dealing with cultural differences
Session Dates: * Virtual sessions: * Tuesday, March 5, at 6:00-8:15 pm * Tuesday, March 12, at 6:00-8:15 pm * Tuesday, March 19, at 6:00-8:15 pm * In-person session: Saturday, March 16, at 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Location of in-person session: 414 Cleveland Street, Durham, NC
Cost: $50
