Project Description: This is a great opportunity to build relationships while learning the language and culture in China. Volunteers will live on campus at Zhejiang University of Technology and will attend Chinese (Mandarin) language classes taught by student-teachers as well as related cultural events. Chinese students in the TCSL (Teaching Chinese as a Second Language) program will teach, tutor, and guide volunteers. The volunteer team will also present English Corner and Culture Study events for campus-wide participation. This program is open to all ages. No prior Chinese language experience is required. Our goal is to impact lives through friendship. Some of the Chinese student-teachers may come to the USA in early 2018 as part of the Edge/ZUT Cultural Exchange, an opportunity for furthering friendships and cultural understanding.
